Yellow Sodbuster

Describe your first love; creation, device, or person . . .?

Mine was named Susan. She was brown eye and hair, stick thin, the daughter of a Pecos River sodbuster. We shared a
yellow rural bus for our first two school years, sang Tennessee
E. Ford’s song “16 Tons” daily, and then after a few decades I’ve heard she became a grandmother.

Mine was named Chris………..was a seaman…came into my home port once a fortnight…..could not wait til that boat came…..then i moved and we saw each other 1 Christmas, and realized all had changed…….but i will never forget him….he was my world , til i actually discovered the real world……………..
