Should i mace my neighbors dog and is it legal?

Every time i go outside in my backyard, my neighbors dog a black lab, use to rush the fence violently, barking and growling as if she was going to jump over. It got so bad we had to put up wooden fences, blocking off the front half of our yard. Leaving the back half open until we can raise our funds up to finish shutting out their yard once and for all. My question is every time i go out to the back half not blocked off, the black lab rushes and acts overly aggressive to the point of pure lunacy and again it tries to come over to my property as there is only a metal link fence between me and it. Should i mace/ pepper spray the lab even if it is on my neighbors property (and is that legal?) or should i just ignore the dog? and go about my business until we can put up the rest of the wooden fences.

If you mace that dog, you are looking into some serious lawsuits. The dog is on their property so you have no standing to mace it. Just ignore the dog. The dog is just protecting what is hers, which is her property.
