Cypress wood bath in Japan but not hot spring water?

Hi there,just for curiosity…i have book a room in Japan which comes with a outdoor bath in cypress wood bath but the water is not Hot Spring water. Will it be cold water since it’s not hot spring water?? They say the cypress wood is able to make the water hot enuf for winter. I’m travelling in winter period. Please help….This is the hotel website

You don’t worry about temperature. It is hot water for bathing.
The guide book only says it is not pure Onsen water but still hot water.
You can also demand them to make water hotter. To cooler you just add water instead.

In Japan Onsen(hot spring) water is only able to announce with official certificate. The hotel can’t get any certificates to say Onsen but you can still enjoy hot bath outside with relaxing therapy of cypress wood aroma.

Try very cold sake to sip when you soak yourself in hot water bath outside. It makes you very comfortable and happy. Be alert for geeks of Peeping Tom though.
