Is it normal for wood grain inside a vehicle to crack?

I have an 09 mb c300 and i noticed the wood grain on the ashtray lid is cracked. I don’t use the ashtray and I did not hit it with anything.

Assuming you mean a 2009 model. No, that’s not normal. Could have been installed incorrectly causing stress on it when closed……. Bring it back to the dealer and ask them to replace it.
