Western Hunting
Whitetail hunting in upstate and western NY.?
I normally hunt around Cobleskill area but it seems that the deer population has migrated to other locations. For the past 2 or 3 years I have only been able to bag a doe or a spikehorn. Has anybody got any idea of some good Whitetail hunting areas that seem promising for larger Whitetail near where I hunt. If not around there then where abouts to look into. Thanks in advance.
It is a bit of a drive from where you are but I am in the Finger lakes region near Syracuse and in two days this year we (being the 6 people that I hunt with) got 13 of which 5 were bucks the smallest was a 5 point. Now I know just off route 90 on Cayuga lake near my work there is a lot of co-op land that you can sign-up to hunt and I have seen some really big bucks in those fields.
