Jumping in USA ?

Might seem like a strange question but me and my daughter were talking while we were riding and this cropped up – if you ride western do you jump with the western saddle or do you use a different saddle ?
Can’t quite imagine folding over a jump with that big saddlehorn is all.
Not being funny at all – please explain

Riders who jump regularly (hunters/jumpers) usually use an English-style or flat saddle.

I usually ride western, and in ranch country, you jump obstacles as they come with whatever saddle you ride. You CAN jump efficiently in a western saddle, but you have to know what you’re doing and have a well-balanced saddle to avoid injuring yourself and snatching the horse in the face. Most western saddles place the rider’s weight too far back, and too many riders ride with stirrups that are far too long, which results in problems if you encounter an obstacle in the course of a day’s work. A quality saddle places your weight in the correct spot, and with correct stirrup length, it is no more difficult jumping with than an English saddle. I’ve safely jumped obstacles up to 4.5 feet high when riding in open country with a western saddle.
