Question regarding Satan’s weapon of choice. . . .?
Why is the weapon that Satan carries around referred to as a “pitchfork”? Now, before you say anything like “because its a pitchfork” hear me out.
Satan’s weapon has three barbed prongs, and he uses it for stabbing folks.
You’re average pitchfork has between two and five prongs, which never have barbs, and is used for shoveling hay, manure, and the likes.
However, the spear-like weapon known as the trident almost always has three prongs. These prongs often have barbs on the end, and the trident is used, surprise surprise, for stabbing people and fish.
Satan’s weapon is clearly a trident, not a pitchfork. So why do people CALL it a pitchfork? Where did that start?
People call it a pitchfork because they often don’t know what a trident is, or because it’s the first automatic association they think of and spit out as a word. xD
