Warrior Armor

Did the Irish wear scale Armour or Lamellar armor?
Their were description in some books about this kind of armor Irish warriors and soldiers used to wear, it describes it like a type of scale armor piece by piece, leather, etc kind of stuff. Can anyone verify this or give some links to sites that have some illustrations or images of this armor they wore. Thanks.
Thanks for those links, I know that site. I knew they wore chainmail, They wore leather as well, but I just need to know if they wore that kind of scale, Lamellar armor, I think some may have, I know they wore Light armor so it’s not to exaggerated to think they wore scale or Lamellar. Thank you for the links.
well, you didn’t spell ‘Kerns’ right nor Kingdoms, so I can hardly take advice on what you say, thanks all the same, but the first guy I am more convinced by. And for your information Ireland wasn’t ‘brought’ to order in 16th Century, it was highly civilized for many a centuries before that! Thank you!!!
It really depends on what time peroid that you are looking for, many of the early Irish warriors were similar to scots in armour, light leather armour or chain.
A common type of heavy foot were the Galloglaich, these wore a bassinet and chain mail, they carried large two handed axes

You are right in your assumption that both scale and lamellar may have been worn.
The Irish would have had trade links with England Scotland and Europe so the import of arms is of course possible, The first Galloglaichs came from Scotland and would have carried arms and armour with them.
Scale and to some extent lamellar is more expensive to create that chain and it is also it is much more difficult to repair.
So while it is reasonable to assume it was used,The Romans and much of the middle east used scale, i think it would not have been widely worn probably only by the rich.
There are some 16th century images that you may like to look at these are:
