Wagner Reality

LOVE-DEATH: a poem about Iolda’s “Liebestod” from “Tristan”: critique please?
LOVE-DEATH
To die from an earthly, unrealizable love.
Believing in its transcendence,
and oh so glorious release, Isolda expires.
While transpiring before
our transfixed, our very ears and eyes,
we as witnesses, can only look on and listen;
not questioning her rapturous exhortations
to join her; to believe as she,
in her at last acheiving, sublime, blissful peace.
Enviable, or pitiable?
How do you such a scene perceive?
Isolda’s maid Brangane pleads,
“Dearest! Mistakest thou not the truth?”
Reality, delusion, whether dream or fantasy,
to question which, it no longer matters.
Wagner’s music so enraptures,
cloaks all around and upwards us lift,
so overwehlms with such emotion,
that to even think, is beyonds will, to wish.
wagner is grand as is your poem..the birth of tragedies…nietzche was wrong to flee the great master..

Pufnstuf $2.55 Rumor has it that Sid and Marty Krofft are developing a new movie based on their bizarre life-size puppet show, H.R. Pufnstuf. But will it hold up to their first feature? Looking more like an ambitious TV episode than a feature film, the endearingly low-tech Pufnstuf hit the big screen in 1970 with the gee-whiz spirit of a community theater musical. The whole cast is here: Jack Wild’s lisping hero… |

Godwired: Religion, Ritual and Virtual Reality (Media, Religion and Culture) $33.20 Godwired offers an engaging exploration of religious practice in the digital age. It considers how virtual experiences, like stories, games and rituals, are forms of world-building or “cosmos construction” that serve as a means of making sense of our own world. Such creative and interactive activity is, arguably, patently religious. This book examines: the nature of sacred space in virtual co… |
