Victorinox is known to be one of the most respected watch and knife makers worldwide. Karl Elsener, in 1884, started his company located in Ibach-Schwyz Switzerland. Karl started his empire with the opening of his own cutler’s business that resulted in great success. Karl did supply the Swiss Army with soldier’s knives in 1891. After the Second World War, the PX stores of the US Air Force, Marines and Army sold the ‘Swiss Officer’s Knife’ to their soldiers and officers that became coined as the Swiss Army Knife. In 1989, the Swiss Army Watches entered the US watch market with amazing results. The Swiss Army 24135 Maverick II was developed by Victorinox. Starting in 1992, Victorinox did open sales branches in Japan followed by locations as Brazil, Poland, Chile, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Mexico, and London in later years.

The Swiss Army Maverick II is a swiss analogy quartz movement watch made in Switzerland. The watch reads easy with the black dial and bold white numerals. The watch includes a stain finish stainless steel case with a screw in style of caseback and a unidirectional elapse time bezel that rotates in one direction only. The date is shown at the 4 o’clock position with luminous hands and hour markers for easy of night viewing. There is a synthetic rubber band that is deigned for longevity. The awesome swiss army watch is water resistant to 100 meters or 330 feet.

Mineral and sapphire crystals are the ultimate choice materials for most watches. The Swiss Army Maverick II Watch has a sapphire crystal which is harder and more scratch resistant than mineral crystals. The glass and acrylic materials should be avoided as much as possible due to the poor performance over time compared to the sapphire and mineral crystals.
