Twist Damascus

How can you tell if a gun has a damascus twist barrel?

This is in reference to a shotgun I inherited a little while back made by Savage Arms.
Shotgun is likely from around 1940
Correction…. firearm is made by J.Stevens

Your gun does not have a Damascus barrel. From all I remember Savage never made a shotgun with a Damascus barrel.
