Training Gladius

Poll: Which bike is best?
I work for a training school and we are looking a renewing the fleet but are wondering which bike would be best to learning on. The bikes will be used for Direct Access. We currently, and always have used, Suzuki GS500′s but they no longer make these now.
My question is: If you are learning to ride, on the Direct Access course, which bike out of the two below would you rather ride?
The choices are:
Suzuki Gladius 650 – http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/bike/sfv650k9/
or
Yamaha XJ6 / ABS – http://www.yamaha-motor.co.uk/products/motorcycles/xj_series/xj6-abs.jsp
many thanks in advance
we used the ER5 before and every one we had the cdi box kept going on them so we would rather stay away from the ER’s
The XJ600 are nice easy bike learn on for direct access. They have a low seat, but remember this is 4 cylinder machine and some inexperienced or small riders might find this machine a bit too heavy.
The Suzuki Gladius 650 seems to be a favourite with new riders. Its a nice compact light v twin.
I am surprised however you didn’t mention the Kawasaki ER500. This is a nice light, easy to ride cheap easy to maintain twin machine.
Hope this helps
