I cant unlock any of the tools on my fishing plier tool…Help?

The directions say to unfold one tool 90 degrees to unlock a tool that is locked out….The problem is my friend locked all the tools in the out position and now they are all locked out…There is no more tools to open to 90 degrees to unlock any of them…Is there a trick to unlocking tools such as blades and tool sets that I can use to unlock any of them…I dont want to take the tool back to the store….
