Say Muammar Qaddafi was in his bunker and the phone rings. He answers it and is told that a Tomahawk missile is heading straight towards him and he has only 30 seconds to live. Whereupon, he gets on knees and proclaim, “I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior; my sins are forgiven!”. The missiles hits his bunker and he is gone.

Although I don’t have the mind of God, I can’t imagine Him forgiving Qaddafi simply because I don’t believe in death bed confessions of people who have rejected Him in the past. On the other hand, I do believe there are those who have foolishly walked away from God and then when they realize they are going to die will reach out and ask for forgiveness. Are their sins forgiven? Only God knows.

Can a Muslim be saved and go to heaven? Yes! But only if they belief in Jesus as their Savior and forsake Islam. “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money” Matt. 6:24

Also, Joshua 24:15, “And if it seem evil to you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Back to Qaddafi, has he ever expressed an interest in Christ? Who knows! Has he ever tried to learn about the Lord? Only God knows the condition of his heart!! The scriptures tells us the first step we must take is to acknowledge Christ as our Savior, then sincerely repent of our sins, then be baptized in Jesus glorious Name and finally receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

People will, in fear, try to avoid Hell at any cost. And your scenario is a perfect example of this.

Sarah, at the risk of being considered contentious, the thief on the cross died under the dispensation of Law and at that time baptism of repentance wasn’t required. Only Jesus was baptized during this time to fulfill all righteousness. Matthew 3:15 . The dispensation of Law ended at Calvary when Christ died.
