Safe to put a vole and mouse together?

While i was away from home my father called and told me that the cat had caught something. He said it was like a mole. He put it in the cage with my mouse and said they got along, but i was afraid for my pet mouse. When i came home, i expected to see a large mole half dead in the cage or my mouse being mortally wounded. I found it wasn’t a mole a tall, but a mouse like rodent with small ears and a very small tail. I did my research and found it was a Vole, or field mouse. From my researched i hadn’t found anything about their aggressive behavior, but was please to find that male voles cared and raised their young. I am still curious if this tiny vole is risking my pet mouse by being in the same cage.

I dunno, but I wouldn’t risk it seeing as the vole is wild, it would probably be kinder to release back, plus it could carry all sorts of diseases that your mouse could catch.

Also I think it is kinda cruel to take a vole from the wild and then put it in a cage, your taking away its freedom. It could have baby voles somewhere waiting for it (lol I know its sounds lame but it could be true).

So yes you could be risking your mouse as their is a disease (can’t remember its name) thats hamsters and other rodents can catch from wild mice and such. So I think it woudl be kinda to let it go.
