The Truth & Scams Concerning the Acai Berry

It’s amazing how all of the acai berry scams popping up around this incredably nutritious palm berry. A commonly found plant in the South & Central American forests stretching from Belize through Brazil to Peru, is the acai palm which requires an abundance of water for proper growth. The fruit, in the shape of a berry has at all times been a source of food for native tribes in the majority of the countries where the palm is found, in various situations forming more than 40% of the complete intake of food. There is the old story in praise of acai berry that a Brazilian tribe could survive only by eating the fruit in times of a food crisis.

The ripe berry is typically dark purple in color, although some varieties are of lighter color & the yet to be grown ones are green in color. The fruit resembles a grape and is fairly small in size.|The fruits can be mistaken for grapes because of their size and looks. A large inedible pit makes up more than 80 percent of the berry’s volume, surrounded by a thin pulpy area from which acai products are derived. The outer skin is thin & enhances the color of the fleshy segment. The fruits mature two times a year & there are as many crops.

The acai berry fruit has recently come into worldwide public interest due to the sales campaigns of a number of producers who are promoting the berry fruit because of its health advantages by presenting the berry fruit in various forms. This is why the Acai palm’s crop growing in the Amazon has exploded.] Pure acai products are now [available as powders, capsules, juices & in puree form. Once the berries are picked they are situated in a vessel of water measured precisely in proportion and prepared to be shaken. The pulp separates from the pit and forms a puree which is then used as is or further processed to get the juice, powder, or used to create tablets & capsules. Habitually, the pulp is consumed with granola, sweeteners, &/or salty materials, depending on individual liking & local availability. The zest of acai fruit finds favor with pretty a good number of ice creams & drinks.

The benefits of the acai berry are in question, in part because there are so many credited to it without being backed up by controlled scientific testing. The acai fruit is robust in color & acts as a natural coloring agent  finding its purpose in MRI scans. Some tests have found that it can inhibit the development of leukemia cells under laboratory settings.

Of course, there is also much excitement regarding its traits of antioxidants, rich fiber, vitamin and mineral content, healthy for all organs, and so on which are not yet borne out by independent tests. The majority of studies so far on the berry insinuate it is a little better than the average lot of fruits currently consumed by the public in all the above aspects. Acai berry scams are attributable not to the fruit but {arise|occur|take place|come to pass|appear} out of {false|bogus|phony|fictitious|insincere|untrue|dishonest|fabricated|deceitful} claims of diet pill hucksters who {exploit|take advantage of|abuse|misuse|manipulate}.
