O/S is corrupt and I need to extract data from drive How?
I have windows 7 and it was acting really unstable until it came to point where i couldnt even navigate it in safe mode without it freezing and subsequently crashing. i cant boot into it anymore without getting a blue screen to which it then restarts and points me to the direction of a start up repair which leads nowhere. i need to get data out of the drive, i used a data recovery program which showed me its still in tact. but that program was a trial and wasn’t very good.
what i need to do is extract the entire “my pictures” folder from the drive, what is the best way to do this? what program should i use?

i’ve hooked it up to another pc and tried to navigate thru the drive as a secondary drive, it tells me it needs to be formated.
should i format the drive using quick format and then try to recover the files, send it into a data recovery center, i dont know what to do.
People often feel panic when I see this. If I format the drive, will I lose all my data? If not, how could I get access to my files?
My take is that you may have to format the card and then use recovery software to recover your files.
