How is this sword sheath/scabbard worn?

I bought this universal sheath (or scabbard?) for my ren faire outfit and can’t figure out the right way to wear the thing. http://www.realmcollections.com/images/pl/Swords_Medium_Universal_Sword_Scab_UC1458_2817.jpg
I don’t have the big giant belt yet, just a regular belt, the sheath, and the sword. I assume the top part goes on the belt, but what about the bottom part? I’m right handed and draw from my left side if that matters. Thanks.

Not the thigh. A full sized blade, you won’t be able to move your leg properly. However, I talked to my cousin, who is an officer in the US Navy, and a sword and scabbard is part of their dress uniform. He says the second strap is typically longer and also connects to the belt, that way the sword and scabbard are angled for easier access.
