Would I get in trouble if I use a Samurai sword to protect myself?

I was wondering if I chopped off a head with a Samurai sword of a person who invaded my home and tried to rob me, would it be hard to defend in court that it was self defense?

If the person was illegally in your home and he had a weapon, then you are allowed to defend yourself, your family, and your property.
You may have to prove that you or your family was in lethal danger.
The police/DA may want to know if you keep a sharpened Katana(s) in your home in convenient locations.
Are you skilled enough with the katana to decapitate someone?
Do you have any idea, how messy that would be to clean up?
Do you know what would happen to the marketability of your home if such an event occurred?.
