I am thinking about purchasing the 1917 cold steel cutlass from amazon.com is there a chance of it being fake?

Also, does anyone know how sharp the sword come because I want it wicked sharp, lastly what are some maintenance tips for keeping the sword in perfect combat ready condition?

For starters the sword you are referring to is a replica, and a very poor looking one at that.. It is a cheap and nasty sword certainly not worth the money even with the discount !!
You sound to me like a kid to me “I want it wicked sharp”, why what are you going to do with it, play silly Pirate games!!! All “Battle Ready” swords comply to a code and they will have a 2 or 3 mm edge so they will do no harm in a reenactment situation !!!
