After Arthur pulled the sword did everyone instantly accept him as the rightful King of England?

Yes. Because it was whoever could pull out the sword from the stone was strong enough and/or pure of heart to lead.

The twist in the story, that it was a young boy and not a strong, warrior-type man.

His sons weren’t born until after he took the sword out of the stone, so therefore at the time of him pulling out the sword, yes a majority people did instantly accept because they wanted a King and some good changes. Probably the people who couldn’t pull out the sword were envious, but I think a majority just accepted fate and decided to go with it.
