Swiss Knife

Is it okay to carry a swiss knife with me in California for protection against robbers, etc.?

P.S. I am not going to kill anyone with it. I am using the swiss knife for self-defense against criminals who try to attack me. Will I be arrested by a police officer, even though I am not using the weapon, in California?
Mine swiss knife folds. And it is manual…I have to get the actual knife out myself with two hands.

Without seeing the knife it’s a little hard to say for sure but your description makes it sound legal under state law. I have heard of cities with ordinances regarding the length of a knife such as mentioned by another poster, but I cannot confirm such an ordinance actually actually exists anywhere. I’m not even sure a city can make something illegal which is currently legal under state law. Best bet is to call your local cop shop and ask if they have any ordinances dealing with knives where you live.
