Style Sword

I’ve starting fencing as one of my after school clubs, what benefits would this sword fighting style give me?
Basically, all I want to know is what it will benefit me. Accuracy? Strength? That type of stuff.
Thank-you in advance.
I’ve been fencing for 23 years (mostly historical rapier). Welcome to the sport.
It helps reaction speed, hand/eye coordination, etc. It is okay for cardiovascular fitness, but not as good as swimming or running
However, the biggest thing that combat sports (like fencing) and martial arts will teach you that other sports can’t is situational awareness and the ability to react intelligently in time. Fencing isn’t called “physical chess” for nothing. The combination of mental and physical aspects can’t be matched in other sports. They say the tip of a fencing blade is the second fasted moving object in sports, slower only than a marksman’s bullet.
Over the last two decades, there has been a revival of European martial arts – Italian rapier fencing, German longsword, Scottish basket hilt claymore, etc. If this interests you, fencing isn’t a half bad foundation for that. See http://hemaalliance.com/ for more info.
