Stockman Jack

The “Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport” Song?
I’ve just heard the Rolf Harris classic, “Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport”. It’s my first time hearing the entire song. I only heard (barely) the beginning where Outback Jack was in the WWF.
I wouldn’t think from hearing the cheery background music that it’s about a dieing stockman on his deathbed asking his friend to tend to his animals. And in the last verse, did the friend hang his corpse in front of the shed?!!! And it’s considered a kid’s song today?!!!?!!????!! Am I by myself on this, or does anybody else out there find this a little twisted?!
Well considering that most children’s fairy tales are really horror stories..enough to scare any adult or child..(think hansel and gretel or little red riding hood)..I don’t think this song is anymore twisted.
