Help finding a old pocket knife?
has anyone ever heard of this knife? my dad said he found it a long time ago and now its broken so i wanted to get him another one. I’ve tried a lot of google searches but nothing came up.
it is a small pocket knife, mad out of steel. it has a single blade and a can opener on it. there is a red casing around it that says “Old Stock Ale”. the Blade says “A.Feist & Co. Solingen Germany” on one side and “Moon brand” on the other side.
like i said i have tried a lot of searches and found nothing. so if any one could give me a actual name to look up, or a website to go to it would be really helpful.
I did some digging and all i could come up with was that A.Feist & Co was in operation from about 1861 to 1939. The blades where made in germany and the “Luna” a.k.a. Lunawerk trademark was first received in 1902.
Your knife was probably post WW1, since it has plastic handles. The type of knife you are describing was a novelty through away knife branded for breweries and other markets angled towards the working man. e.g. hardware store, building supplier, contractor.
To try and find a replacement I would go to a gun and knife show. They are in almost every state throughout the year. A knife expert there would be able to give you more info.
