In MGT, if Dark Steel Sentinel is dealt 2 combat damage, will it die if it’s given -1/-1 during 2nd main phase?

Dark Steel Sentinel is a 3/3 indestructible. If it is blocked by a 2/2 creature, will Dark Steel Sentinel get 2 damage? Then after combat damage is dealt, will the Sentinel die if I play an instant that gives it -1/-1 that same turn during the 2nd main phase?

Yes, it will take the damage. But -1/-1 after that will not kill it. Remember, damage does not reduce Toughness; it sits on the creature as a separate value. So in the situation you describe, it would be a 2/2 creature with 2 damage on it. This would Destroy it, but it is Indestructible.

To elimiate an Indestructible creature with -X/-X effects, you must reduce its Toughness to 0. Damage can never be used to kill an Indestructible, unless the damage is treated differently than normal damage, such as with Wither and Infect.
