The Scrapbooking Tools You Might Not Have – Part 2
In the last article, we covered some great permanent markers and gel pens. Moving on from markers, we’re now going to have a look at some hands on tools.
Ruler Ribbon
This is similar to a tape measure. Like a tape measure, its a strip of ribbon, with inches and half inches measured out for you going for about 32 inches in total. The biggest difference between this and a standard tape measure is that this one is imprinted on a ribbon material.
This makes it great for measuring hard angles, wrapping around pointed corners and edges, which a normal plastic tape measure has trouble with.
the other significant advantage is you can basically incorporate it into your scrapbook as part of the embellishment. At last, a tape measure with two uses!
Bone Folder
These small gems have been around for a little while. The reason why I brought this up again is that the Martha Stuart range has brought out a new bone folder which is really quite neat.
If you have never used one before, they are like a plastic blunt knife. The are used to make tactical creases and folds in paper and card. You may also use the flat edges for smoothing and working wrinkles out of paper or stuck on sections.
These also come in useful if you are making an attempt to work materials into tight corners or areas.
‘Punch All Over The Page ‘
This is a new Martha Stuart product which is named after what it does. Unlike traditional shape cutters, this is intended to cut from the top down and does not depend on having to put the surface between two sides of a clipper.
It’s basically like a cube with the outline of the stamp shape on top and four tiny legs sticking out from the bottom. All you have got to do is put the cube over it and press down.
All you have got to do is ensure you have a good strong surface beneath to support the cutter and do not forget to keep your fingers clear!
This is the best thing to jazz up your next history or high school scrapbook.
In the subsequent article we’re going to continue cast our eye over more new products for avid scrapbookers.
