Converting a Pocket knife into an automatic/spring assisted?

I bought a knife online that I thought was an automatic (ie push button, blade pops out). When I got it, it is not that at all. How can I (if I can at all) make it spring assisted?
I am USMC Military Police and am allowed to have spring assisted knives.

I really doubt it can be done. It involves hidden mechanisms that your knife probably does not have room for. If it’s a good knife, keep it and look for another. If not, return it.
