Value of an m1871 German Seitengewher bayonet?
I have a ww1 German Seitengewher bayonet purchased in Belgium in the 50′s. It is pristine and includes the scabbard, frog, and unit (87th Landwehr Infantry). The regimental number on the scabbard is 87. L. 2. 1. 111. and on the blade is 87. L. 2. 1. 110. The frog is sturdy and looks like it has a partially readable equipment depot number (d. ?. 4.), and is maker marked. Lots of weapon marks on all parts. Blade is a bit seasoned but shiny, no pitting, marked to P.D. Luneschloss Solingen. The 87th Landwher regiment was assigned to 12th Landwher Division, activated 1915 and fought in Alsace-Lorraine ’till 1917. Later served in “Ostsee” Division fighting in Finnish Civil War in 1918. This was probably lost between 1915-1917 because it was found in curio shop in Belgium in the 50′s. What is this worth and does anyone have further info?
Probable war stories aside do a search on Ebay for a comparable bayonet see what they are selling for.
