Which Greek epic included a violent scene in which one man killed another with a single arc of his sword?

It might have been the Iliad? Not sure. All I remember is that the author made a very violent scene rather beautiful.

This is not very much information, but I remember something like that happening somewhere in the Iliad – since the Iliad is about war it has an awful lot of killings, but one of them was like that. Odyssey also has killings but I don’t think it includes a scene like that.

Oh and small comment The two major Greek epic poems, Iliad and Odyssey, are attributed to Homer, but he never wrote them down. People were learning them by heart and citing parts of them verbally, they were only written down much later, so I’m not sure if you would call Homer the ‘author’…
