What’s the difference between the regular and silver labeled Atari games?

For instance, there are two different versions of the Mario Bros game, both for the 2600 (yes, there’s also one for the 5200 that has a silver label, but there’s also a silver and regular for the 2600.)

well, there is no actual difference between the games, the games are the same for both silver labeled and normal Atari games; the silver label is just a Label Variation, there are many label variations for an Atari game, you can see them all here: http://www.atariage.com/system_labels.html?SystemID=2600 ,

but, as you may see, the silver labeled games are fancier and cool looking, so they are harder to find because many game collectors are after them, but you may find some, and it will actually surprise you that there are more than 60 different label variations for the early Atari games. Silver labels can also indicate a best selling game, those ones you can find easier, because many people will have them.
