Which would be better to buy a silver plated or a nickel plated trumpet?

Which is better a silver plated trumpet or a nickel plated trumpet. Nickel plated is cheaper buy is there a difference in the look or quality?

I would definitely recommend the silver plated finish over the nickel plated finish. Nickel plating brightens the tone, therefore a nickel plated trumpet will not blend as well with the rest of the trumpet section. Although I’m not usually a fan of lacquer finished trumpets, a lacquered trumpet would be a better choice, if price is a concern. Normally, the price difference between a lacquered trumpet and a silver plated trumpet is only $100.00, which is why I always recommend silver plating.
