Sheath Fixed

Sheath Fixed
Is it against the law to carry a fixed-blade knife in a sheath on my belt? I live in Virginia.?

I don’t want to hide it or conceal it. I want to wear it when I take my walks.
Sometimes my walks are to the grocery store or the 7-11. Is it illegal to carry a fixed-blade knife into a store if the knife is NOT concealed?
I don’t need to take a knife to the store.
I take a lot of walks and I’m afraid of dogs.
I don’t trust that mace is gonna work when I need it. Sometimes on my walks I stop by the store to get grapefruit or other foodstuffs and if I’m carrying my knife, it would mean that I have a knife while in the store. The reason I’m up so late is because I’ve been trying to burn some photos onto a dvd disk and not all of the photos made it to the disk. I usually go to bed around 1 am. I hate it when I go to bed this late. I’m thinking I’ll just stay up since it’s REALLY late now. I have NO INTENTIONS of robbing anyone or using the knife on a person.
I’m scared of wild crazy dogs that you hear about attacking and killing folks. They run in packs and can smell fear.

It’s not a good idea to carry the knife unless you want trouble.
If you have a hunting knife attached to your belt and you are hunting, you won’t get hassled, but if you are at Food Lion with a big Buck knife on your waist, it could bring you trouble.
