Sharping Edge

How do you fix a dented knife edge?
My mother in-law recently used my Santoku knife to chop up beef and chicken instead of using the cleaver that I had bought. Now my knife’s edge has little dents in it.
Is there a way to have the knife reshapen to have a smooth, sharp edge? Is there a modern blacksmith I have to go to?
