how do I get nail polish out of a baby comforter that has set for a very long time?

A friend gave me a beautiful pink/brown baby comforter, but there has been nail polish spilled on it. How do I get out a set in stain of nail polish?

I don’t think you can remove it. I’ve never been able to get nail polish out of cloth. Maybe you could put a cute baby patch over it? A teddy bear or something?
