Radio Flyer 33 Classic Red Tricycle – A Retro Trike That’s Durable

Anyone considering the purchase of a Radio Flyer 33 tricycle for their child will likely be motivated by their own happy memories of riding this classic toy as a child themselves. The company has been manufacturing various ride on toys for nearly a century. Your parents likely had a Radio Flyer product of their own. Not only does the company produce a range of tricycles and bicycles, it also produces a number of different styles of wagons. All perfect for young children as well as the young at heart.

Whenever I think about the Radio Flyer 33 classic red tricycle, it reminds me of that 80′s movie, A Christmas Story. Set in the 1940′s the main character is hoping for a Red Ryder riffle for Christmas. Although a different product altogether, in some scenes in the movie, the Radio Flyer wagon is featured.

The Radio Flyer 33 tricycles is made from durable steel and painted a cherry red. The tires are rubber making it an easy toy to ride and maneuver. Of course it comes with a classic chrome bell and a double decker rear platform so that two kids can enjoy a ride, one on the seat and one standing on the back. The handlebars are completed with red and white tassels just as the company has been doing for decades. As far as safety is concerned, because this trike is made from steel it is much less likely to tip over due to its weight. And, it will last for years to come given its sturdy construction so that it can be passed on to younger siblings, cousins or neighbors.

Although this tricycle is recommended for ages 2 to 5, two year olds may still be a little small for it. But, since kids generally grow like weeds, your child will soon be big enough to ride it. Just be sure to purchase a good helmet to go with it and supervise your child at all times while he or she is riding it. In fact, given that a two year old is likely to be very disappointed if they are too small to ride such a great looking toy, it might be more accurate to say that this toy is really for 3 to 5 year olds.
