How old do you have to be to carry a concealed knife?

I know it sounds like alot of the other questions out there about knife laws, but im not completely clear about it all. Im 16 years old and live in Sacramento California and i carry a knife around at times because i do various outdoor activities that involve a knife most of the time. I keep it clipped to my pocket, but on the inside, is that a problem? And the blade length is 3.857 inches, is that okay? Clarification would be greatly appreciated.
