Old Japanese

what is the best treatment for a cat with an upper respiratory infection.10 years old & is a Japanese Bobtail?
my 10 year old Japanese bobtail started sneezing last week and I took him to the vet last friday, he had a shot of antibiotics and a shot of antihistamine & sent us home with some liquid amoxicillan. today he was so much worse so I took him to the emergency vet, they are going to give him i.v. fluids and a stronger antibiotic. I just need to know that I am doing everything for him I love him so much. Any help would be appreciated.
Continue with the antibiotics prescribed for the cat, and make sure he keeps eating, drinking, and eliminating. It’s especially important to make sure he gets enough fluids because one of the side effects of most antibiotics is dehydration. If you pinch the skin on his scruff it should go back down to its natual position rapidly; if the response is delayed the cat is dehydrated and may end up needing more SQ/IV fluids. I hope he starts feeling better!
