Old Case

Can usb 1.0 ports on the front of an old case work as usb 2.0 if pluged onto a newer motherboard with usb 2?

I have an old compaq case that has two usb ports on the front… and i’m upgrading my motherboard that has usb 2 support… What i’m wondering is if i plug the usb ports from my case on the motherboard that is usb 2 will they work as usb 2 or will the still only work as usb 1… or will they not work at all?

if you do so, they’ll work as usb 2.
for usb starndards (1 &2 ) are the same in connectors and hardware parts, and since you are connecting the case’s usb cable to your motherboard’s USB2 PORT it will work as 2!

remember, the connectors on your case’s body are ONLY a extender for your board’s usb port
