Naval Pirate
Can a company provide it’s own naval security for it’s container ships traversing the straights of Singapore?
From Pirates ( the most pirated navigable waterway in the world ) or would it be more cost effective to pay taxes to a government, whose navy would keep the sea lanes safe?
Could a private company hire enough mercenaries to keep it’s oil field in Nigeria free of bandits, or would it want a government diplomatic effort backed up by military force to ensure it’s investments?
Oh.. I’m a dumbass for even thinking such things..
A company could do that, but the problem is that over the course of a year, the expense of the security would probably exceed the uninsured losses caused by piracy.
