* Keep tank filled to 95% when you leave the boat (allow 5% for expansion).
* Check the fuel deck fill cap and gasket. That’s two things–cap and gasket. A decent cap with a cracked gasket allows rain water to penetrate in the tank. Keep your cap tight and replace the gasket often.
* Change out primary and secondary fuel filters yearly.
* When you begin the engine, trace the lines form tank to filters to engine. Search for leaks, weak hose clamps, cracked hoses, and bright, colorless sheen (this tells a fuel leak). Fix all of these problems before you start the engine!
Keep Engine Blood Neat and Filtered!
What one component offers you the triple good thing about a lubricant, coolant, and dirt-trapper? Nothing helps your engine operate more smoothly than good oil or proper viscosity (thickness) and filtered. Look in your user manual and note the interval to alter engine oil and filter. So what can you observe? Slice the interval in two. Whether it says change the oil and filter every a few months, use it your agenda for every 3-4 months. Become fanatical about checking your oil.
Do not attempt to get started on any engine before you confirm the oil level. Check it again when you anchor or complement. Oil should appear black around the stick.
