Great Paintball Vacations

The last place you’d expect to find a place billed as “The Disney Land of Paintball” is New Jersey, but that’s just where the TopGun Paintball facility is located. On top of an available 130 acres of fields, every year there is a huge paintball event that recreates one of the most famous battles in Texas and U.S. history. “The Alamo Big Game” is scheduled for August 9 this year and has been the subject of many paintball magazine feature pieces over the years.

There is even a Six Flags Great Adventure Park near the Cream Ridge, New Jersey location, so you have an excuse to take the whole family on a full vacation and get your paintball fix at the same time. From discounted Dairy Queen and KFC eating fare to top of the line rental equipment available to players, TopGun Paintball offers visitors everything they need and more.

The company Web-site promises, “With hundreds of the most accurate, reliable and durable, paintball guns in the industry, you’ll spend your time shooting, not fixing your guns.” They also have technicians on hand, expert air smithing, and a full-service retail pro shop.

The history of this haven of paintball is also intriguing. The company’s original owner, Raymond Gong, founded and legalized paintball in New Jersey and fought various subsequent court battles to pave the way for paintball’s acceptance and approval in the state. Prior to winning his first major lawsuit, paintballing was actually considered to be against the law in New Jersey. In New Jersy any paitball player may rund the risk of actually being arrested. New Jersey became the last state in the entire United States to legalize paintball when Gong ultimately won his case in 1988.

The Alamo Big Game is celebrating its 4th year in 2009 and company officials encourage visitors to come a day early and spend Saturday practicing for the big event on Sunday. TopGun Paintball is offering a special incentive for early birds on their Web-site: “If you come to TopGun the day before The Alamo (Saturday 08/08/09) and pay for The Big Game on Sunday, you can play in Open Class Saturday for FREE.”

The facility is open Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon and every weekend from morning until Dusk. Just be aware that except for special events and Big Games, TopGun Paintball limits the number of players per day and will close off registration once the maximum number is reached.

You can call 732-928-2810 to book your reservation today or better yet, you can pre-register online. The company recommends that you contact them at least two weeks before your planned Adventure at TopGun for best results.

Parties with reservations will be served first; however you can show up at the door and still have a chance to play.

Pricing is generally very reasonable with a whole day of paintball for one person costing as little as $40.100 for a started package or as much as $95.99 for the Platinum setup that comes with one thousand paintballs and also a coupon for your next visit. They also offer discount packages for military, fire department members, police officers, and EMTs. There may be great discounts for bachelor and/or birthday parites; so do your research. There’s even a half-day rate ($24.99).

Frederick “Tex” Avery directed some of the funniest cartoons ever made, but he relied primarily on situations and moving graphics, rather than on the personalities of familiar characters.
