Vitcoria’s Secret limited edition LOTIONS?

I was just curious why would they make such products limited only when it’s selling just fine. Products like coconut sugar edition, honeysuckle belle, so on and so forth. I have read it online that it will be DISCONTINUED. I dont get it. Can someone explain to me why it has to be a LTD edition or a D/C’d item.
