Lock Serrated

Help Me Decide on a Pocket Knife?
I can’t decide between the Gerber 22-41493 EVO Jr. Serrated Knife and the S&W SWFR2S.
What mostly matters to me is that it keeps an edge and has a strong reliable lock to keep it open. If you know a different good pocket knife, please tell me!
I’ve been using an collecting knives for more than 60 years. (Really!) Neither pocket knife you mention has a particularly strong blade lock. I would never use one for any serious work; and, certainly, I’d never attempt to parry with the back of the blade – Especially with that Gerber liner-lock!
Get yourself a CRKT folder with a manual LAWKS safety lock. I use a LAWKS safety on all of my EDC folding blades.
These pictures show a couple of my CRKT EDC folders:

(In the first and third pictures you can see the LAWKS locking button on the back of the handle and immediately behind the end of the blade. A LAWKS lock will prevent the blade from vibrating loose and snaping shut on your fingers – Especially when the back of the blade is hit hard. The partially serrated blade is good for cutting through softer materials like: rope, plastic, and cardboard.)
