Lighters for Groomsmen

As previously stated above, the function of the lighter often has more to do with its design than its flame, so that is what you’ll want to pay attention to when choosing your groomsmen gifts. For instance, a lighter with a single jet flame can be used for both cigars and cigarettes. If this same lighter has a built-in cigar punch then it is better suited for cigars and shouldn’t be given to your cigarette smoking groomsman.

Pipe lighters often have angled flames that are emitted at a 45 or 90 degree angle from the lighter’s side instead of its top. This makes it easier for the flame to reach the tobacco inside the pipe without burning your groomsmen’s fingers. And if your groomsmen are the type of men who enjoy spending time outdoors then a lighter made to work in high altitudes, with a protective, waterproof cap and a windproof flame would be best for them.

Also you will want to keep in mind the type of fuel the lighter uses, especially if the lighter will be used to light cigars or pipes. If the lighter uses lighter fluid as its fuel then it can only be used to light cigarettes because the fluid taints the taste of the tobacco in cigars and pipes. So if your groomsmen enjoy smoking either cigars or pipes, then get them a lighter that uses butane fuel.

If your groomsmen are impatient then you will want to find a lighter for a single action ignition for them. That way they will quickly have a flame to use at the press of a button instead of having to manually flip open a top before pressing the ignition button.
