Leek Serrated

Gritty vegetable soup?

I cooked a vegetable soup with just vegetable broth, leek, canned tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic, dill, red skin potatoes and carrots. I did not skin the potatoes and I just ran the serrated edge of the knife along the carrots instead of peel them. I used a brand new All-Clad big pot right out of the box but only rinsed it. Now the soup is gritty. Is it possible that it is from me not dish-washing the all-clad cookware and it is unsafe to eat, or is it more than likely from the carrots/potatoes/mushrooms that I might not have washed? Has this ever happened to anyone else? Thanks!
I washed ALL of the vegetables, I’m just wondering if the grittiness could be from me not washing them enough

It was the leek, no doubt, they are notorious for hiding sand. Next time, take them apart, soak them, and rinse them well.
Your soup, although gritty is safe, if you brought it to a boil, the sand was sterilized.
