Can having a large bruise cause a leg cramp?

I accidentally slammed my car door on my leg a few days ago and now it’s a nice shade of purple on my calf. Last night in bed, I woke up with a terrible cramp in that calf, and there is a hard knot where the bruise is. Can having this injury there make me more susceptible to cramps? I rarely if ever get cramps in my calf like this (sometimes in my feet, but never my calf).
