Lansky Sharpener

I have a question about knife sharpeners?

i bought a lansky sharpener the deluxe withe the 5 different grits but i relized they had one that said diamond on it that was more. this sharpener i have takes alot of time time to get a knife extremely sharp, has anyone had experience with the diamond sharpener as opposed to the deluxe???????????????

Diamond does work well for Lansky, Spyderco and any sharpener in general. High grit diamonds are very fast for cutting metal. Just make sure not to use excessive pressure, that causes diamond crystals to break out from the base, rendering sharpener useless. Higher grits have bigger crystals embedded in the base, so they need to be handled more delicately.
This micrograph shows embedded diamonds to give you better idea – http://zknives.com/knives/knimgtmpl.shtml?/images/knives/macro/stones/d8xxc_80x.jpg
