Need help with 2 levels:

The Knife’s Edge: a six letter word linked to football, fishing, bait and hit.
i hope someone can help with these two questions. 
it’s iassociate 2 for facebook, forgot to write that
the first one seems to be “assume”‘s first three letters. (censored by yahoo)
maybe “tackle” for the second?
