Diamond sharpening stone for pocket knives?
I was thinking about getting this http://www.amazon.com/DIAMOND-SHARPENING-STONE-double-MEDIUM/dp/B000TY15AQ/ref=sr_1_8?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1291162438&sr=1-8 to sharpen some of my folding pocket knives.
Thoughts?
That’s a great price, and a handy thing to have. I have a couple of the larger, 2 1/2″ x 12″ versions I bought from Woodcraft over 15 years ago and they’re still performing like they did when they were new. I also have a coarse diamond that is the size of your example to keep in my tool bag to use on the job site and really like it. I don’t know if you can wear out a decent diamond stone by properly using it, so I highly recommend them. You don’t need oil, water, or have to worry about them being flat. I tried to see who made the ones on Amazon, but they’re about $45 cheaper than similar ones at http://woodcraft.com so are probably not DMT, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s a good size for pocket knives and putting in a tackle or tool box, too.
